Merseyside derby... In London?

Tottenham Hotspur and Everton saw off Bolton and Sunderland respectively on Tuesday night to earn FA Cup semi-final derbies at Wembley against City rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

Everton cruised past Sunderland with a goal from Striker Nikitca Jelavic before David Vaughan put the ball in his own net. The Blues won 2-0 in at the Stadium of Light with a stunning performance to tee-up an historic fixture at Wembley. The Merseyside Teams had not met at this stage in the Cup since 1989.

Meanwhile in London, Tottenham saw off Bolton Wanderers with a 3-1 win. The previous game had been abandoned after Fabrice Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during the game.

Spurs scored three late goals, the first from New Zealand international Ryan Nelsen on 74 minutes, Gareth Bale struck two minutes later to extend his side's lead. However, Bolton were handed a lifeline when Kevin Davies found the net.

During a frantic finish, Louis Saha scored the host's third goal in injury time to send them through - they will now face Chelsea at Wembley in April.

Five Men who can Manage Chelsea

1) Guss Hiddink

Having already done the job once, and proving quite good at it,  Guss would be the ideal man at 'The Bridge' (Stamford Bridge, home to Chelsea FC). The Dutchman lost just one game during his temporary stint with the West London outfit back in 2009, lifting the FA Cup in the process after seeing off Everton at Wembley. He is currently the Manager of 'Anzhi Makhachkala' but could be tempted back to Britain and rejoining old friends at Chelsea.

2) Didier Deschamps

As a player with Chelsea between 1999 & 2000, Didier knows his way around 'The Bridge'. The powerful defensive Midfielder made his smooth  transition into Management in 2001 with Monaco before reaching an impressive UFEA Champions League Final in 2004. Deschamps is currently leading Marseille in the right direction, but many believe he would relish the chance of a shot at the Premier League.

3) Rafael Benitez

Rafael loves English Football. After 6 successful years with Liverpool the Spaniard and the Merseyside Club parted ways. Benitez headed to Internazionale but things didn't work out and he's now returned to his Home on Merseyside. However, 'Rafa' has already recently admitted that he may be interested in a job with Chelsea and he could be the perfect fit for 'The Blues'.

4) Pep Guardiola

Pep has a job envied by every Football Manager walking this planet. He gets to manage Lionel Messi and his Barcelona Team-mates, so why would he go anywhere else you may ask? Well, the British Press has strongly linked him to the vacant Manager's Position at Chelsea since he has now been at the Camp Nou for four season, a fresh challenge could suit Guardiola. With Real Madrid set to win La Liga this season, Chelsea could be the next stop for the former UFEA Best Coach Award Winner.

5) Jose Mourinho

Could the 'Special One' really make a return to Chelsea? After leaving Stamford Bridge in 2008 over an alleged dispute with owner Roman Abramovich, Mourinho could be heading back to the United Kingdom. Like Benitez, Jose has made no secret of his love for England and its football. With the England Manager's job also available, there is a big chance we could see the flamboyant Portuguese star back in Britain.

The Magic of 'Messi'

Messi netted his 51st goal of the Season this weekend with a phenomenal strike against Sevilla... and there looks like there's plenty more to come from the star who's already considered by many to be 'the world's greatest'...

He recently told British Tabloid Newspaper The Sun, "Year after year I've grown and improved, I was lucky to start very young and I always had very good colleagues around me as I was growing up and this has helped me and how I play."

"Even now I think there is a lot more to come from me. I'm nowhere near my peak. I'm still young and still evolving as a player.
"I will never stop learning. Even when I finish playing I will never say: 'I thought I was the complete player' because the older you become the more experience you gain. The older you become, the better you become.
"Under Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola, I have learned to play more tactically, which is what I most needed - what my game needed."
"From the tactical point of view it's been about knowing how to stop and think on the field when we don't have the ball. And that makes us better when we have it."

It is unknown to many fans but Messi actually left home comforts of his native Rosario, Argentina at the tender age of 13 yrs before moving to Barcelona. Because of this, he believes that the difficult decisions he had to make as a youngster have helped him become the player he is today and has enabled him to achieve such great heights in world football.

The 24 year old confessed, "I always wanted to play professionally and I always knew that to do that I'd have to make an awful lot of sacrifices."
"I made sacrifices by leaving Argentina, leaving my family to start a new life. I changed my friends, my people. Everything. But everything I did, I did for football; to achieve my dream."
"When I was a kid, my friends would call me to go out with them but I would stay at home because I had practice the next day.
"Nothing has changed since I was young. My friends would go out and I would stay at home."
"But not for nothing, because I knew it had to be that way and, at that moment, I was totally dedicated to football."

Lionel Messi, not unsurprisingly because of his dedication, topped the Football Rich List with an estimated £29.6 million in combined income from salaries, bonuses and off-field earnings.

Naturally Messi is a winner and, as you may expect, he doesn't particularly like losing...

"I am very competitive and I feel really bad when we lose, You can see it in me when we've lost, I'm in a very bad way,"  he said.

FWF Mag decided to Tweet England U-20 International James Wallace and West Ham Player Blair Turgott to ask them what they thought of the ability of Leo Messi - they Tweeted me back saying 'Genius' & 'Unplayable' respectively...

We also got in contact with Journalist Ian Doyle for his thoughts on the magnificent 'Messi'...

Bolton Midfielder collapses on pitch

Bolton Midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed during the first half of his side's FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Manager Owen Coyle told the awaiting press  outside a Hospital in North London that the coming hours will be ‘crucial’ in the Midfielder's battle for survival and urged Fans, Players & the rest of the Footballing World to pray for Fabrice.

The former Arsenal Player collapsed with a suspected Cardiac Arrest during the first half of the FA Cup Quarter Final between Spurs and Bolton Wanderers.

Teammates and opponents rushed to his side looking on in horror as Medics and staff from both Teams worked hard to resuscitate the Player.

Referee Howard Webb summoned the Players into the dressing room before calling off the game as agreed by both Clubs.

23-year-old Muamba has a son called Joshua and is engaged to be married to his girlfriend following his proposal on Valentines Day this year.

We received supportive Tweets for Fabrice from both Stoke City Midfielder Jermaine Pennant & British Journalist Mike Parry wishing him a speedy recovery.
